Jim Cooper is a painter and architectural illustrator as well as a practicing architect licensed and registered in New York State.  Jim was the 2006 recipient of the Edward Vason Jones Scholarship for the Rome Drawing Tour which was an opportunity to travel, sketch and paint in Rome, Naples and Paestum. In 2007 he sketched and painted in Venice and at the Villa Cornaro in Piombino Dese with the Institute of Classical Art and Architecture.

He has taught portrait and figure drawing and architectural sketching in watercolor at Cooper Union, CUNY, The Educational Alliance and The institute of Classical Architecture. He graduated from Cranbrook Academy of Art with a Master of Architecture degree and lives in Upstate New York.
